there are lots of good pubs in fitzrovia/bloomsbury. good points: the pubs will be quiet at the weekends, it's central for everyone, and it's near the uni so the pubs are used to geeks playing chess 😉

Shav, this is completly off topic but I have to ask; do you have a job? If so, what is it?

is that the one on the euston road? haven't been there but i'm going soon to buy a new board to go with the huge lewis chess set i've just bought...

anyway, a good pub might be the Fitzroy Tavern. i *think* you can book a function room downstairs which has got booths n stuff. the beer is cheap and it does food.

EDIT: http://www.timeout.com/london/bars/reviews/1609.html

all this is IMHO of course 🙂 there's tons of other good venues round there.

No i like the choice. There is plenty of public transport links to Euston, everyone should be able to make it. I'll ring that place tomorrow and see howw they feel about a load of chessheads using up all their tables. Anyone got preferences for a date? Shall we say 4 weeks on saturday, that would be October 15th. If this is too early, say now 😀

would love to come, but can't do before october 19th.

fitzroy tavern can be reached easily from warren street, goodge street, and tottenham court road tube, as well as tons of buses.

chess shop is here: http://www.chesscenter.com/
